Brief Light Dependent Resistor LDR Voltage Divider used as 78HC08 AND Gate Input Circuit

Light Dependent Resistor LDR voltage dividers make for a good light based signal voltage.

AND gates need a high signal to all inputs in order to have a high output. If any of the inputs are low, then the output is low.

  • High input or output voltage: Is as close to the positive supply voltage (Vcc) as needed for a given circuit.
  • Low input or output voltage: Is as close to the negative supply voltage (0V ground) as needed for a given circuit.

I wire up a practice circuit that depends on there being enough light and a switch being pressed, to turn an LED on.
