2 and 4 volt references using two red LEDs

If you would like to establish both an approx. 2V and 4V in a circuit, then you can easily do so with a couple of red LEDs that have approx. 10 milliamps of current flowing through them.

In the circuit shown in the diagram, the electrical point (node) where the Anode of the red LED closest to ground is, will have about 2 volts across it in relationship to 0V ground. Whereas at the Anode of the LED farther from ground will have about 4 volts higher than 0V ground.
