Op amps make a good current source.

With negative feedback, the output will provide whatever voltage it can to make the inverting (-) input voltage the same as signal applied at the non inverting (+) input.

The output will raise it’s voltage as needed (within it’s limits) to produce that + input signal voltage plus the extra voltage needed to power the load at the desired current.

The resistor from (-) to ground will have the voltage at (+) across it, and will therefore pass current based on that voltage divided by it’s resistance (I = V/R). That will also be the current through the load. As long as there is enough supply voltage to do so.

Assorted integrated circuits (ICs) kit. Included is the LM358 op amp and other commonly known ICs. I have previously covered some of the other ICs in YouTube videos. It is an Affiliate link ad that supports this channel.

Art of electronics is easily my favorite learning electronics book. It helps to already be familiar with basic electronics while studying it. It inspires many of my demonstration circuits. An affiliate link ad that supports this site.
