2N2222 NPN BJT emitter follower zener diode amplified current charging low value super capacitor circuit
I used to really love supercapacitors. Therefore, I wanted to build circuits to safely charge them. Below is a couple of videos I made testing out some prototype circuits.

A desired voltage can be set with a zener diode and/or other basic components. However, that voltage will probably vary widely with a power hungry load. Therefore, a transistor wired as an emitter follower can transfer that voltage to a load. The transistor will allow whatever current is needed to maintain the voltage to the load. The base to emitter though will drop about 0.6V from the signal. So, make sure to compensate for that voltage drop.
